Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to physiotherapy and rehabilitation services provided by DT Physio Ltd. They explain the arrangements for appointments, payment, cancellations, rehabilitation packages and programmes, and the responsibilities of DT Physio and the people using our services. By arranging and receiving services from DT Physio, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Where a relative, representative or other person arranges and pays for services on behalf of a patient, these terms also apply to those arrangements where relevant.

About DT Physio

DT Physio Ltd provides private, self-funded physiotherapy and rehabilitation to adults aged 18 and over. Services are provided in the person's own home, care home or other appropriate home or care setting. DT Physio does not currently accept payment through private medical insurance.

Initial Assessment

Physiotherapy normally begins with an Initial Physiotherapy Assessment. The assessment is used to understand the person's current mobility, function, rehabilitation needs and goals and to determine the most appropriate next steps. Following assessment, DT Physio may recommend individual rehabilitation sessions, a rehabilitation package or programme, or another appropriate course of action. An assessment does not guarantee that ongoing physiotherapy will be recommended or clinically appropriate.

Appointments and Payment

Payment is required in advance for appointments, rehabilitation packages and programmes unless DT Physio has expressly agreed otherwise. For individual appointments, payment must be received at least 24 hours before the appointment. An appointment is confirmed and can proceed once the required payment has been received. Payment is normally arranged through an invoice sent by email, with the option to pay securely using the payment link provided. DT Physio does not retain full payment card numbers.

Fees

  • Initial Physiotherapy Assessment — £140
  • Individual Rehabilitation Session — £140
  • 5-Session Rehabilitation Package — £625
  • 10-Session Rehabilitation Programme — £1,200

Current fees are also published on the DT Physio website. Where fees are changed, the price applicable to a service already purchased will not be changed retrospectively. Travel within DT Physio's normal service area is included within the stated fee and is not charged separately.

5-Session Rehabilitation Package

The 5-Session Rehabilitation Package consists of five home rehabilitation sessions. Sessions can be provided once weekly or more frequently, including daily where clinically appropriate. Progress is reviewed throughout and rehabilitation adapted according to the person's needs and progress. The package does not have a fixed expiry date. However, sessions are intended to form part of an agreed course of rehabilitation and should be used in accordance with the rehabilitation plan agreed with DT Physio. Unused sessions cannot be transferred to another person.

10-Session Rehabilitation Programme

The 10-Session Rehabilitation Programme consists of ten home rehabilitation sessions. Sessions are provided at least twice weekly and can be delivered more frequently, including daily where clinically appropriate. Progress is reviewed throughout, with rehabilitation adapted and session frequency adjusted according to the person's progress and rehabilitation needs. The programme does not have a fixed expiry date. However, sessions are intended to be completed as part of the agreed rehabilitation programme. Unused sessions cannot be transferred to another person.

Cancelling or Rearranging an Appointment

At least 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or rearrange an appointment without charge. Where at least 24 hours' notice is provided, the appointment can be rearranged without charge or, where the appointment is cancelled rather than rearranged, any payment made for that appointment will be refunded in full. Where less than 24 hours' notice is provided, the appointment is non-refundable and the full appointment fee will be charged. Once the physiotherapist has attended the agreed address for the appointment, the appointment is non-refundable. DT Physio may waive a late cancellation charge at its discretion where there are exceptional circumstances. For rehabilitation packages and programmes, cancelling an individual appointment with at least 24 hours' notice does not result in the loss of that rehabilitation session. The session can be rearranged.

Missed Appointments and Access

As DT Physio provides physiotherapy in people's homes and care settings, appropriate access must be available at the agreed appointment time. If the physiotherapist attends at the agreed time but is unable to gain access, and there is no response after reasonable attempts to contact the patient or relevant contact person, the appointment will be treated as a missed appointment and the full fee will be charged. If an appointment begins late because access is delayed or the patient is not ready at the agreed time, the appointment may still need to finish at the originally scheduled time.

Cancellation by DT Physio

If DT Physio needs to cancel an appointment, the patient will not be charged for that appointment. Any payment already made can either be applied to a rearranged appointment or refunded in full.

Ending a Package or Programme Early

A patient may choose to stop rehabilitation at any time. Where a prepaid 5-Session Rehabilitation Package or 10-Session Rehabilitation Programme is ended before all sessions have been used, completed sessions will normally be recalculated at the standard Individual Rehabilitation Session rate of £140 per completed session. Any remaining balance will then be refunded.

Clinical Decisions and Changes in Health

Physiotherapy and rehabilitation are based on individual clinical assessment. Treatment and rehabilitation may be adapted as the person's abilities, health and circumstances change. Patients, or those supporting them where appropriate, should provide accurate and relevant information about their health and inform DT Physio of significant changes that could affect rehabilitation.

  • the person's health or medical condition has changed;
  • physiotherapy is no longer considered safe or clinically appropriate;
  • further medical assessment or treatment is required;
  • agreed rehabilitation goals have been achieved;
  • further physiotherapy is not considered to be providing appropriate benefit; or
  • circumstances prevent physiotherapy from being provided safely or appropriately.

Consent and Capacity

Physiotherapy will only be provided with appropriate consent. Where a person does not have capacity to make a particular decision about their care, DT Physio will act in accordance with applicable legal and professional requirements concerning capacity, best interests and authorised decision-makers. A relative or representative may arrange appointments and make payment on behalf of a patient, but this does not replace the requirement for appropriate consent to assessment and physiotherapy.
